Family SEAL
Every year, we run termly Family SEAL morning's for our Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage classes. Our children thoroughly enjoy every moment of this opportunity to play, learn and discover alongside their family members. The sessions aim to develop the children's social and emotional skills. We feel that is particularly important to support our children and families to develop these skills because it has been proven that children who have good social and emotional skills are better equipped for life and learning.
Some of the aspects of learning covered in Family Seal sessions are:
- Self-awareness
- Managing feelings
- Motivation
- Empathy
- Social skills
They are presented through 7 themes:
- New Beginnings
- Getting on and Falling Out
- Say no to Bullying
- Going for Goals
- Good to be me
- Relationships
- Changes
Our children are familiar with the format of the sessions and enjoy using the wide variety of high quality resources provided to demonstrate to their family the skills which they have been learning in their classes.
