Remote learning, Evidence Me and Google Classroom
In Nursery we are using Evidence Me to set activities for pupils who are working from home. This system allows us to set hands on practical activities for our youngest children. Parents and carers can respond with 'parent notes' or add their own observations (including videos and photos). We are working in partnership with parents to support children's learning and development both at home and in school.
We are now using Google Classroom, for all children in Reception and Years 1 - 6, so all of our children can continue to access high quality education whilst they are learning from home.
All children are expected to be online and ready to learn from 9am.
Every day, your child will take place in 1 live PSHE lesson. This will be followed by at least 4 more lessons (including maths, literacy, shared read/phonics) or independent activities. These will be a mix of live and recorded lessons.
Please remember your child needs to submit the work set so their teacher can give them feedback and next steps.
Children will also access a daily assembly and weekly PE challenges. Why not take a photo of your child tackling their challenges and upload them to the class page?
As you are aware, we have been using GC since the start of this year for homework, so the children are already used to using this learning platform.
Every child has a unique login to the Classroom.
Google Classroom is a safe and secure solution for children to access learning materials directly from their class teachers; a location in which they can collaborate with their peers by sharing useful websites and tips to completing assignments; a hub to allow blended learning direct from their school classrooms into the comfort of their own homes.
