In maths we have been focusing on types of lines and put our knowledge of angles and lines into our art work, with some abstract art work! In literacy we wrote a biography on David Walliams, Miss Topping and Miss Lamb even sent David the work and he liked them on twitter. To finish the half term we looked at some poetry, we even wrote our own ‘Ones’ poems all about Gangster Granny’s trumps, we hope you like them.

One thing we found out, was how the Ancient Egyptians used to mummify the dead. As the Egyptians believed that the physical body would be important in the afterlife. For our history lesson this week, we had the opportunity to mummify each other. We hope you like our very own mummies, it was so much fun!

Red Nose Day

Friday the 19th was Red Nose Day! Red Nose Day is a day to raise money to the charity Comic Relief which supports people who are living incredibly tough lives. Here at St Augustine’s we wanted to help raise money, by dressing in red clothes or dressing up as a super Hero, we all donated £1 for this to happen. Year 4 really did look incredible! But Miss Topping and Miss Lamb did look the best.

World Book Day may have been a little different this year, but whether was in school or at home we all went on a journey together! This year the whole school looked at a book called Journey. The story had no words, but with our amazing imaginations we put a story together. Throughout the journey the girl visited a castle and went on a Boat, she flew on a magic carpet and a lot more! In school and at home we created boats, castles and birds, we did all this in our pyjamas. World Book Day was so much fun!
