International Day of Peace
On Friday 20th September, children celebrated this special day by having some learning activities around what peace means. Parents and carers came in school to take part in some of these activities with their children. We also did a sponsored silence , children also came in their own clothes that represent them and who they are. For lunch, the children had a range of meals from different countries to choose from, the children loved the jollof rice!
Article 15: every child has the right to freedom of association and to freedom of peaceful assembly
Article 14: Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practice their religion
Spiritual planting (connecting and looking after God's creation)
Reverend Stewart took us outside for a special activity, combining hands-on learning with an important lesson from Religious Education. As we planted flowers and picked up rubbish, Reverend Stewart explained how caring for the environment is part of many faiths, including the Christian belief in being good stewards of God's creation. We eagerly planted, cleaned, and learned how small actions, like keeping nature tidy and beautiful, reflected values of respect, responsibility, and kindness. It was a meaningful experience, connecting RE lessons to real-world actions, fostering both environmental care and spiritual growth.
