During Clean Air Day two years ago the children of St Augustine's campaigned to get the road outside of our
school closed to traffic.
They were concerned about the amount of pollution caused by the cars that were driving down the road and parking outside of the school at the start and end of the school day. They were also concerned for the safety of the children coming to school and leaving at the end of the day as they felt it was not safe to cross the road with so many cars parked outside of the school.
With Ms Shah's support in the campaign we have managed to make the area just outside of the school gates on
St Augustines Street, a pedestrain and cycle zone only between the times of 8:00am-9:00am and 3:00pm and 4:14pm.
This has made a hugh difference to the children and parents/carers coming and leaving school as the have been able to cross the road outside of school safely.
We had to notify the local residents of the new changes, so some children from the pupil voice groups, posted letters informing them of the changes.
